The Miami Dolphins announced the release of quarterback Mike White and tight end Jody Fortson Jr. Additionally, wide receiver Anthony Schwartz has been placed on injured reserve.
White, who served as the backup last season, will save the team $3.5 million against the cap. In preseason, he completed 20 of 43 passes for 179 yards.
Fortson signed with Miami after an injury-plagued season, having previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs. Schwartz, who sustained a knee injury, will miss the entire season after an MRI confirmed a torn ligament.
