The Miami Dolphins have waived veteran safety Marcus Maye and activated rookie safety Patrick McMorris from injured reserve. Maye, who joined the Dolphins in June, played 11 games this season, recording 30 tackles.
His release allows McMorris, drafted in the sixth round, to join the active roster after recovering from a calf injury. The Dolphins currently boast the eighth-best pass defense in the NFL, allowing an average of 197.5 passing yards per game.
