The Miami Dolphins have waived veteran safety Marcus Maye and activated rookie safety Patrick McMorris from injured reserve. Maye, who joined the Dolphins in June, appeared in 11 games this season, recording 30 tackles.
Previously with the New Orleans Saints, Maye was released in March due to financial considerations. His departure allows McMorris, who was drafted in the sixth round, to return after recovering from a calf injury.
Currently, the Dolphins boast the eighth-best pass defense in the NFL.
