Derek Carr, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, has been ruled out for the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders due to a left hand injury and ongoing concussion protocol.

This will mark the fourth game Carr has missed this season, with rookie Spencer Rattler having started in his absence. The Saints will now turn to second-year quarterback Jake Haener for the game.

Despite his absence, interim coach Darren Rizzi indicated that Carr is making progress and could potentially serve as an emergency backup.
