Nick McCloud has been released by the Giants after struggling this season, recording 12 tackles and allowing nine of 11 pass targets to be completed for 170 yards. McCloud, who played college football at Notre Dame and went undrafted in 2021, had stints with the Bills and Bengals before joining the Giants in 2022. Known for his versatility, he contributed on special teams as a punt gunner and had his best season in 2023 with six tackles and three fumble recoveries. The Giants aimed to bring him back at a lower salary, but he declined, leading to his release which saves the team $1.404 million in cap space.
