Jake Moody and Harrison Butker set new Super Bowl records with 55-yard and 57-yard field goals, respectively. Moody's kick gave the San Francisco 49ers an early lead, while Butker's kick narrowed the Kansas City Chiefs' deficit. Moody's kick broke the previous record set by former Buffalo Bills kicker Steve Christie. Moody went 21-of-25 in the regular season and has a career long of 57 yards, while Butker missed just two field goals in the regular season and holds a career long of 62 yards.
Both kickers made important kicks in the fourth quarter to tie the game and force overtime. This is the second overtime game in Super Bowl history, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has been involved in both games.
