The Washington Commanders have released kicker Cade York following his poor performance in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he missed both of his field goal attempts.
This decision comes after the Commanders acquired York from the Cleveland Browns, with a stipulation in the trade requiring him to play two games. By cutting him after just one game, the Commanders retain a seventh-round pick.
Now, they are in search of a replacement kicker as they prepare to face the New York Giants in their home opener.
