The Washington Commanders have parted ways with kicker Cade York following his disappointing debut. In their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, York missed two crucial field goals and struggled with kickoffs, despite successfully converting extra points.
The move comes after the Commanders traded for York from the Cleveland Browns, sending a conditional draft pick. With his early release, the Browns will not receive any compensation.
The team is reportedly looking to bring in Austin Seibert as York's replacement, continuing a turbulent kicking situation after cutting Brandon McManus earlier this year.
