Marcus Mariota, the former quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, has been placed on injured reserve with a chest injury, causing him to miss at least the first four games of the season for the Washington Commanders.
In response to Mariota's injury, rookie quarterback Sam Hartman has been promoted to the No. 3 spot, while Jeff Driskel will take over as the primary backup. Initially, Mariota was expected to serve as the backup quarterback behind the Commanders' No. 2 overall pick, Jayden Daniels.
