The Washington Commanders have placed quarterback Marcus Mariota on injured reserve, meaning he will be sidelined for at least four games due to a pectoral muscle strain.

With Mariota out, Jayden Daniels is set to start with Jeff Driskel as the backup. The team has also signed Sam Hartman from their practice squad and added Sheldon Day and Nick Bellore to the active roster for their upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rookie defensive tackle Johnny Newton remains doubtful as he recovers from foot surgery.
