The Carolina Panthers have traded wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a late-round pick swap, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Panthers received a fifth-round pick while sending a sixth-round pick to Baltimore.
Johnson, who previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the Panthers' leading receiver this season, making 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns. His expiring contract and the Panthers' poor start made him a valuable asset for a playoff-contending team like the Ravens.
Originally drafted in the third round by the Steelers in 2019, Johnson had a successful tenure in Pittsburgh, accumulating over 4,300 receiving yards and earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2021. His ability to adapt to different quarterbacks has made him an appealing option for Baltimore, although he may become a free agent next spring.
